Samsung, KIA make trade…Catcher Kim Tae-gun↔Infielder Ryu Ji-hyuk
The Korean baseball team Samsung and the Korean Baseball Organization (KIA) have executed a one-for-one trade of their top players.Catcher Kim Tae-gun, who played for Samsung, will move to KIA, while infielder Ryu Ji-hyuk, who was with KIA, will wear a Samsung uniform. After missing out on free agent catcher Park Dong-won last winter, KIA had been struggling with a catching shortage, and Samsung, with its abundance of catching talent including Kang Min-ho and Kim Tae-gun, was struggling with its infielders, so the two teams’ interests aligned.
