Drew Anderson fights back

Professional baseball SSG Landers’ new foreign pitcher Drew Anderson (30) pitched perfectly in his first game in the KBO League.

Anderson started in the visiting game against the KIA Tigers in the 2024 KBO League held at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on the 10th and pitched 46 pitches over 3 innings, allowing 3 hits, 1 walk, 6 strikeouts, and no runs.

He struck out Choi Won-jun in the first inning with a swing and a three-pitch strikeout, then beat Kim Do-young with a fly ball to center field and Na Seong-beom with a swing and a strikeout.

In the second inning, they allowed an infield hit to Socrates Brito and a left-field hit to Woo-seong Lee, putting them in danger with one out and runners on second and third base, but they blocked Kim Sun-bin and Han Jun-su and continued their scoreless streak.

In the 3rd inning, with 2 outs and runners on 1st and 2nd bases, Hyeong-Woo Choi struck out on a missed swing, completing the mission.

On this day, Anderson threw 36 fastballs, 4 sliders, 4 change-ups, and 2 curves, and the fastballs recorded a maximum speed of 156 km/h and an average speed of 152 km/h.

SSG released sluggish foreign pitcher Robert Dugger on the 27th of last month and recruited Anderson.

After arriving in the country on the 3rd, Anderson focused on controlling his condition, and on this day, he joined the first team and pitched for the first time.

Since Anderson is not a traditional starting pitcher, he plans to increase the number of pitches through actual games.

SSG is ahead 1-0 as of the 5th inning, using Anderson’s comeback as a stepping stone. 한국야동
