Defending men’s professional volleyball champion Korean Air moved into second place in the league standings with a four-set win over KB Insurance, led by a triple-crown performance from next-generation outside hitter Jung Jung-yong, who recorded at least three kills, blocking and digs.
Korean Air defeated KB Insurance with a set score of 3-1 (25-18 25-16 18-25 25-20) in their Dodram 2023-2024 V-League match at Uijeongbu Gymnasium in Gyeonggi Province on Nov. 11.
Korean Air has won four straight matches to move from fourth to second place with a 5-2 record and 16 points.
They also closed to within one point of first-place Woori Card (6-1, 17).
Meanwhile, sixth-ranked KB Insurance has lost seven straight games.KB Insurance lost all three games after winning the opening game.
Jeong Jung-yong has been effectively filling the void of ace Jeong Ji-seok, who is out with a back injury.
In this match, he exploded from the first set. He led the offense with eight points, including two from blocking and three from serving.
Korean Air maintained a large lead and easily took the first set.
Jeong Jung-yong continued to lead the offense in the second set with five points, while Lim Dong-hyuk and Kwak Seung-seok also contributed.
