Haslem won’t be leaving Miami after retirement.
“Eudonis Haslem will join the Miami Heat front office after retiring from the game following the 2022-2023 season, according to a report by local media outlet Miami Central. Haslem will play a role in both the player development department and the front office in 텍사스홀덤 Miami.”
Haslem is a part of Miami’s history. Born in Miami, Florida, Haslem is a local boy and a Miami native who attended both high school and college in the city. Haslem entered the 2002 NBA Draft, but was not selected by any NBA teams and spent a year playing in the French league. He then played in a Miami uniform from the 2003-2004 season through the 2022-2023 season. That’s almost 20 years with one team.
In his prime, Haslem was a solid player with solid defense and a mid-range shot. He wasn’t a star, but he was the type of blue-collar player that teams need to have on their roster. Haslem won three championship rings in Miami, the first as Shaquille O’Neal’s backcourt partner and the second as the backup to the big three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. Haslem wasn’t a standout performer compared to his superstar teammates, but he made unselfish plays when it mattered most.
He’s a guy that’s really disrespectful and annoying to play against, and he’s a guy that I’d love to have on my team.
As he aged, Haslem’s skills declined, and he lost value as his athleticism and activity levels declined from his prime. Yet, he was able to continue to receive contracts in Miami because of his self-care and leadership. Haslem is known for his self-care, regardless of his age and experience. Even as he approached the age of 40, his self-care remained the same.
It has become a symbol of Miami’s team culture, which is often referred to as “hit culture. Haslem is also arguably one of the best leaders in the NBA. He is respected and vocal by the players and coaches in Miami.
That’s why Haslem came out of retirement to return to Miami. Jokingly, Miami players and coaches may have gotten tired of seeing Haslem again. It didn’t feel out of place to see Haslem at a Miami practice shortly after the news broke that he was joining the front office.
You can find All-Stars, but you can’t find leaders and veterans like Haslem. It’s a blessing in disguise for the Miami organization to have him.
