The Toronto Blue Jays, Atlanta Braves, and Boston Red Sox are among the “dark horses” that could land “superstar” Shohei Ohtani, 29.

MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, tweeted on Saturday (Aug. 26), “Don’t overlook the three teams showing interest in Ohtani,” pointing to Toronto, Atlanta and Boston.

MLB Network’s John Morosi and MLB.com’s Mark Pinesand were among those named.

“Toronto is seriously considering a deal for Ohtani,” Morosi reported. He also left the door open for Atlanta. “Ohtani’s best chance to win is with a team that has a lot of young, star-studded players with long-term contracts. Atlanta fits that bill more than any other team,” he said.

Finesand has his eye on Boston. “Ohtani is known to love hitting at Fenway Park (Boston’s home ballpark). In two starts at Fenway Park, he struck out 14 in nine innings and allowed one run.”

The two-hitting Ohtani is the biggest name in free agency this offseason. 먹튀검증 A mega-contract of $500 million or more is being predicted early on.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been consistently mentioned as a possible destination for Ohtani. “The Dodgers are the most likely team to land Ohtani,” Morosi and Pinesand said.

With all eyes on him, Ohtani’s destination could be decided soon. Pinesand predicts that Ohtani will “sign before the end of the Winter Meetings, which are Dec. 5-8.”

Ohtani, meanwhile, broke into the big leagues in 2018 after playing in Nippon Professional Baseball, going 38-19 with a 3.01 ERA in 86 games as a pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels. As a hitter, he batted .274 with 171 home runs, 437 RBIs, and 86 stolen bases in 716 games.

He was unanimously named the American League (AL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2021 and again this year.
