Women’s professional basketball has a new title sponsor ahead of the start of the season.
The Korea Women’s Basketball League (WKBL) and Woori Bank held a signing ceremony for the title sponsor of the 2023-2024 Women’s Professional Basketball League at the Premier Room on the 22nd floor of Woori Bank’s headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul on April 24.
The signing ceremony was attended by 스포츠토토 WKBL President Lee Byung-wan and Woori Bank President Cho Byung-kyu, as well as officials from both organizations, who announced the title sponsor and emblem for the upcoming season, and signed the agreement.
The official name of the season was confirmed as ‘Woori Bank Woori WON 2023~2024 Women’s Professional Basketball’, and Woori Bank will participate as the title sponsor of the 3×3 Triple Jam in 2024 in addition to the women’s professional basketball this season, and will have naming rights and various sponsorship rights.
“Woori Bank is pleased to be the title sponsor of the WKBL for the upcoming 2023-2024 season,” said Byung-kyu Cho, President of Woori Bank. “With this sponsorship, we will take the lead in helping the women’s professional basketball leap to the next level, and we will do our best to contribute to the development of Korean women’s basketball by discovering and nurturing prospects.
“We are deeply grateful to Woori Bank for joining us as our title sponsor this season, and we look forward to a successful 2023-2024 season with Woori Bank and the WKBL teams working together,” said WKBL President Lee Byung-wan.
With its new partner, the WKBL will hold its opening media day at the Rivera Hotel Cheongdam in Seoul on November 30, followed by the official opening game between Woori Bank and BNK Thumb on November 5 at Asan Yi Sunshin Gymnasium.
