Professional soccer’s K League 1 leaders Ulsan Hyundai earned their first win in four games by beating ‘outnumbered’ Suwon FC.
Ulsan won 3-2 in the 31st round of the Hana OneQ K League 2023 at Suwon Sports Complex on Thursday.
Ulsan, which had been winless in its last three matches (two draws and one loss), won for the fourth time in four games and widened the gap between itself and second-place Pohang Steelers (56 points), who have played one game less, to nine points.
Meanwhile, 10th-ranked Suwon FC (29 points) suffered their second straight defeat and failed to close the gap on ninth-ranked Jeju United (35 points).
In the 24th minute, Ulsan got a lucky break.
Rubiksson’s cross from the left flank was blocked by a defender, and the ball kicked by Suwon FC defender Jung Dong-ho hit Martin Adam’s head on the left side of the penalty area and deflected to the front of the penalty area.
At that moment, Ulsan’s “left-footed specialist” Lee Dong-kyung rushed in and shook the Suwon FC goal with a right-footed shot. Martin Adam picked up his fourth assist of the season.
Ulsan took the lead in the 36th minute when Kim Min-hyuk sent the ball forward with a header, and Martin Adam was brought down by Suwon FC’s Uno Gomes as he tried to get to the ball.
The referee decided that Uno Gomes had committed a foul that prevented Martin Adam from scoring a perfect goal and showed him a red card.
After a 1-0 first half, Ulsan took another step forward four minutes into the second half when Lee Myung-jae sent in a cross from the left flank that Itaru finished with his right foot from the front of the goal area.
Despite being outnumbered, Suwon did not give up easily.
With Lee Seung-woo up front, Suwon scored a late goal in the 22nd minute.
Lee Seung-woo sent in a cross from near the right side of the goal area, 바카라사이트 and Oh In-pyo, who was rushing to the other side, headed home.
Suwon FC sent the home fans into a frenzy in the 32nd minute when Bautersson equalized with a powerful right-footed shot from the right side of the penalty area after a solo dribble.
But Suwon’s joy was short-lived. Ulsan sealed the victory in the 35th minute when Rubiksson’s cutback from the left side of the goal area was tucked home with his right foot in front of the goal.
With his 15th goal of the season, Ju In-gyu has moved past Thiago (Daejeon-14) to become the league’s top scorer.
At the Gwangju Football Stadium, Jeonbuk Hyundai defeated Gwangju FC 1-0.
Fifth-ranked Jeonbuk (46 points), winless in their last five matches (three draws and two losses), turned things around with their sixth win in as many games against a tough Gwangju side.
Third-place Gwangju (48 points), on the other hand, tasted defeat for the 11th time in 11 games after a high-flying run of five wins and five draws in its last 10 matches, and is now just two points behind fourth- and fifth-place FC Seoul and Jeonbuk (both on 46 points).
The closely contested match was decided by Jeonbuk’s goal in the 27th minute of the second half.
Jeonbuk attacked Gwangju’s left flank, and after a cross from Moon Sun-min was cleared off the line, Ahn Hyun-beom attempted a left-footed shot from the front of the goal area.
The ball left Ahn’s foot, hit Gwangju’s Doo Hyun-seok’s head, deflected and went into the goal, and the goal was recorded as an own goal by Doo Hyun-seok.
At Gangneung Sports Complex, Gangwon FC and Incheon United played to a 1-1 draw.
With the draw, 11th-ranked Gangwon (25 points) moved three points clear of last-place Suwon Samsung (22 points).
Incheon (44 points) are level on points with Daegu FC (44 points), who have played one game less, but are in sixth place on goal difference, giving them the green light to enter the Final A (teams in first through sixth place).
The first goal came from Kang Won. In the fifth minute of the first half, Kim Dae-won’s right corner kick was headed in by Lee Ji-sol.
Incheon fought back to equalize in the 11th minute when Mugosa scored with a right-footed shot from the right side of the goal area after receiving a penetrating pass from Shin Shin-ho. 슬롯사이트
