Sokcho native Han Jin-sun (26, Cacao VX) successfully defended her title at the Haiwon Resort Women’s Open 2023 (total prize money: 800 million won) on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour.

Han carded two eagles and three birdies for a 7-under 65 in the final round of the tournament at Haiwon Country Club (Par 72, 6,573 yards) in Jeongseon on Tuesday. With a final-round total of 14-under-par 274, Han finished five strokes ahead of runner-up Jinhee Lim (9-under 275) and claimed her second straight title and first of the season. It was also her second career KLPGA Tour victory. Han, who made her KLPGA Tour debut in 2017, won her first career title at this event a year ago, becoming the 131st player to do so. She finished with a final score of 11-under par 277.

After finishing tied for 10th on the first day and tied for 13th on the second, Han shaved five strokes off her score from the previous day’s third round to finish tied for third at 7-under par.

After parring the first five holes of the final round, Han birdied the sixth (par-3) and immediately followed it up with a sensational eagle on the seventh (par-4). It was a lucky eagle as his second shot from the fairway, which was just over 161 yards from the pin, went straight into the hole. After a birdie on the 10th (par-4), Han followed it up with a picturesque eagle on the 11th (par-5). This time, his third shot from the fairway, 99.3 yards from the hole, went in.

With the victory, Han became just the third player to record multiple wins in the 12th edition of the event. Previously, Yoo So-yeon won the event in 2009 and 2015, and Taebaek native Lim Hee-jung (23-Dusan Construction) won in 2019 and 2021.

Han also became the second player to successfully defend her title at the event. After winning the 2019 event, the 2020 event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and she won again in 2021. Meanwhile, this is only the third time on the KLPGA Tour that a player has won with two shot eagles. Kim Se-young at the 2013 Hanwha Financial Classic and Choi Hye-jin at the 2017 Chosung Sparkling Water Yongpyong Resort Open both won after hitting two shot eagles in the final round. 토토사이트
