Johor Darul Taqzim (Malaysia) head coach Ector Vidoglio and midfielder Nacho Insa have expressed their determination ahead of their clash with Gwangju FC.
Johor Darul Taqzim will host Gwangju FC in the third round of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League (ACL) Elite (ACLE) League Stage of the 2024-2025 season at the Mir Stadium in Yongin on June 22 at 7:00 pm. Johor are second in the standings with one win and one draw (four points), while Gwangju are first with two wins and six points.
Johor is a powerhouse in Malaysia. They have won the league for 10 consecutive years since their inception in 2013. They’ve also won the Malaysia Cup and 온라인카지노사이트 FA Cup four times and three times respectively.
Last season, they went undefeated in the league, winning 25 games and drawing one, and qualified for the ACLE main stage as league champions. This season, they’re still leading the league with 10 wins and one draw.
Things aren’t looking good in the ACLE either. Johor drew 2-2 away to Shanghai Haigang in their first match. In their last match, a 3-0 victory over Shanghai Shenhua in the second round, they won 3-0.
Ahead of the match, a pre-match press conference was held at the Mir Stadium in Yongin on Nov. 21. “We know from Gwangju’s recent matches that they have played very well and have good players,” said head coach Johor Vidoglio. I was impressed with their dynamic play,” said Vidoglio.
“But we also have good players and we are playing well. We will try to play a good game tomorrow.”
“It’s going to be a tough game,” said the midfielder. We will do our best to get a good result,” the midfielder concluded.
The match was originally scheduled to be played at the Gwangju World Cup Stadium, but the stadium was in poor condition, including the facilities and turf. The AFC sent a letter to improve the conditions, and Gwangju looked for other venues in Jeolla Province, but there were no options. Eventually, Gwangju decided to host the match at Yongin Mir Stadium, which has a much more compliant turf and facilities, and the AFC approved it.
When asked how he thinks this will affect Johor, Vidoglio said: “It’s a change of venue, but it doesn’t matter if it’s Gwangju or Yongin. It’s important that we play wherever we play,” he said. “I don’t really care if we play away or at home. I think it’s more important to show our game,” he said.
The latest addition to Johor is former Real Madrid striker Jese Rodriguez. He has played for Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Stoke City, among others. He has been recognized as a player with great potential since his youth, but knee injuries have prevented him from reaching his full potential.
There is a possibility that Hesse will play against Gwangju. “He“s professional and in good form,” said Vidoglio. There is a good chance he will play tomorrow,” said Vidoglio.
