Kang Min-ho, who congratulated Park Hae-min on his 1,300th career appearance in June last year, received Park’s congratulations a year later as he reached a new record of 2,238 career appearances.
Kang Min-ho reached the new record of 2238 games played by starting at No. 5-catcher in the away game against LG at Jamsil Stadium on Sept. 28. It was his 2238th game since making his debut against the Hyundai Unicorns on Sept. 19, 2004, at Sajik Stadium in Busan. The 2238 games is the most games played in the KBO League.
Park Hae-min, who led off the bottom of the first inning, congratulated Kang Min-ho. Park, who joined Samsung as a rookie in 2012 and captained the team in 2020-21, played 1096 games before moving to LG, and Kang, who joined Samsung from Lotte in 2018 and played alongside Park, are known for their close friendship.
As the junior congratulated the senior for the record, a scene from last year’s game came to mind.
